A Whiskey Sour is a Daiquiri, which is a Margarita, which is Summer Berries (Shirt Factory original), and an Abolitionist (Shirt Factory original).
The first hand-written documentation of a sour goes back to 1856 to a bar in Toronto, Canada, then a couple years later appeared as a recipe by Jerry Thomas. A sour is simple: spirit or liqueur, sugar, and some sort of citrus (lemon or lime). From there, you can do anything.
For me, the sour has the most range and is the perfect starting point. Flavored sugars, multiple spirits, egg white, garnishes, bitters, and so many other ingredients can propel your drink beyond the ordinary creation.
During our first class you’ll:
Learn the basics of a sour
Test a couple traditional sours, and learn the Shirt Factory’s basic sour recipe
Develop your shake and pour
Create and fine-tune your own recipe
The price of the first course will be a special introductory fee of $40, though subsequent classes will be more expensive as ingredients and techniques change.
Hope to have you in class! Please email email@example.com to reserve your spot - the first 8 will be accepted, and we will waitlist others with the hope of adding an additional date to the calendar.
You should anticipate drinking and testing a variety of flavors and concoctions.
Must be 21 or older to attend, and drink responsibly.
Small bites will be provided.
Abby is back with another cupcake decorating class! We are back for year #2 to support Dining Out for Life! On October 2nd, we will be donating 25% every order to support Evergreen Health.
Evergreen Health has been on the front line, fighting HIV while providing services to those living with the disease since 1983, and will continue to be there until HIV is no more. Evergreen strives to foster healthy communities by providing medical, supportive and behavioral services to individuals and families in Western New York, especially those who are living with chronic illness or who are under-served by the healthcare system.
How does Dining Out for Life work? Shirt Factory will be donating 25% of the cost of your meal and all drinks to support the HIV prevention and supportive services at Evergreen Health. All you have to donate is your appetite. Participating in Dining Out for Life is as easy as 1, 2, 3.
